Nigeria Orders Intensified Precision Strikes as Military Ramps Up Anti-Terror Operations

Nigeria’s Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has ordered air component commanders across the country to escalate the intensity and effectiveness of aerial strikes against terrorist and criminal groups threatening national security.

Aneke delivered the directive during a high-level strategy session at Nigerian Air Force (NAF) headquarters in Abuja, where commanders from all active military theatres gathered for a comprehensive review of ongoing operations.

The Air Chief’s directive followed remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who urged the Nigerian government to confront what he called the widespread killing of Christians and placed the country on a watchlist for severe religious-freedom concerns.

Trump warned that the United States could consider deploying troops to Nigeria, insisting that Washington “will not remain passive while such acts continue.

The meeting, convened under the new leadership’s agenda, focused on expanding precision air campaigns and enhancing coordination with ground forces.

According to a NAF statement, the engagement represents a major step in recalibrating Nigeria’s air operations and strengthening joint military efforts to counter insurgency, terrorism, and other armed threats.

Air Marshal Aneke underscored the need for a more adaptive and intelligence-driven approach to warfare, urging commanders to improve operational speed, accuracy, and strategic impact.
