Mali’s Armed Forces (FAMa), led by Seydou B. Niangado, carried out a large-scale security operation from April 1 to 3 in northern areas including Bintagougou, Lerneb and Raselma.
The mission aimed at protecting civilians and their property, and according to the army, resulted in the neutralization of several suspected terrorists and the seizure of trucks transporting motorcycles and fuel.
The operation also led to the recovery of a military vehicle stolen during the 2018 Soumpi attack, along with communication equipment.
Authorities say the intervention represents a significant step in efforts to weaken armed groups operating in the Timbuktu region.
