Mauritania has rejected reports claiming that Malian troops entered its territory, stating that the movements observed occurred entirely within Mali.
According to the army, patrol activities took place in Malian localities close to the border, and no violation of Mauritanian territory was recorded.
The clarification comes amid ongoing tensions between the two countries following recent incidents involving Mauritanian nationals in Mali.
Authorities in Nouakchott called for responsible reporting while reaffirming that security forces remain fully mobilized to protect the border and ensure national security.
