Niger and Turkey Deepen Strategic Partnership with New Cooperation Agreements

NIGER has strengthened its ties with Turkey after President General Abdourahamane Tiani held high-level talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara, resulting in the signing of several cooperation agreements covering key sectors including security, defense, energy, infrastructure, transport, education, and trade.

During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral relations based on mutual respect, shared interests, and long-term development goals.

President Erdoğan also reiterated Turkey’s support for Niger’s efforts to combat terrorism and enhance national stability, while praising the actions of Niger’s defense and security forces.
