Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Gambian President Adama Barrow have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation between their two countries following the fourth session of the Senegalo-Gambian Presidential Council held in Dakar.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed progress on previous agreements and discussed cooperation in key sectors including infrastructure, energy, transport, agriculture, fisheries, education, health, tourism and judicial affairs.
They also pledged to accelerate major projects aimed at improving connectivity and facilitating the free movement of people and goods between the neighboring countries.
The two presidents further stressed the importance of enhanced security collaboration to address cross-border threats such as organized crime, illicit trafficking and violent extremism.
At the conclusion of the session, they adopted recommendations presented by experts and ministers from both countries and directed relevant institutions to ensure their swift implementation, underscoring their shared vision of regional integration, stability and economic development.
