Mali and Morocco will hold the fourth session of their Joint High Commission for Cooperation in Bamako from July 21 to 24 to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across key sectors.
The meeting will begin with expert discussions, followed by a Mali-Morocco Business Forum before a ministerial session co-chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries.
Talks will focus on trade, investment, agriculture, infrastructure, mining, energy, health, education, security, culture and youth development, with several cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding expected to be signed.
The Business Forum will bring together private sector representatives from both countries to explore investment opportunities, particularly in production, processing and trade.
The meeting also reflects growing diplomatic ties between Bamako and Rabat, including support for Morocco’s initiative to provide landlocked Sahel countries with access to Atlantic ports to boost regional trade.
Mali has also announced plans to withdraw its recognition of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and back Morocco’s autonomy proposal for Western Sahara, marking a significant shift in its diplomatic position.
