Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara and Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani held talks in Abidjan on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral relations and address regional security challenges.
The discussions focused on the political and socio-economic situations in both countries, economic cooperation, peacebuilding and efforts to improve cross-border security in West Africa. President Ouattara highlighted the convergence of views between the two leaders on several issues of common interest.
President El Ghazouani described the visit as a reflection of the longstanding friendship and fraternity between Mauritania and Côte d’Ivoire. Both leaders expressed their commitment to deepening strategic cooperation and working together to address shared regional challenges.
