Burkina Faso has raised CFA49.5 billion on the West African Monetary Union financial market after investors submitted bids worth CFA107.04 billion, more than twice the CFA45 billion initially sought. The operation recorded a 237.86% coverage rate, reflecting strong demand for Burkinabe securities.
The fundraising included a 364-day Treasury bill and bonds with maturities of three, five and seven years. The government raised CFA8 billion on the one-year bill, CFA15 billion on the three-year bond, CFA14.373 billion on the five-year bond and CFA12.127 billion on the seven-year bond. Weighted average yields ranged from 4.13% to 7.41%.
Domestic Burkinabe investors accounted for the largest share of subscriptions, submitting more than CFA71.8 billion, of which CFA45.7 billion was accepted. Senegal also participated, with CFA1.331 billion fully accepted on the seven-year bond. The value date for the operation is August 13, 2026, according to UMOA-Titres.
