Security forces in Nigeria have launched a manhunt after gunmen abducted more than 150 residents from villages in Zamfara State.
The attackers raided Kurfa Danya and Kurfan Magaji communities, opening fire before taking mostly women and children into nearby forest areas, according to local officials.
Authorities confirmed the attack and said joint security teams have been deployed to rescue victims and track the assailants.
The incident highlights the persistent banditry crisis in northwest Nigeria, where armed groups frequently carry out mass kidnappings and attacks on rural communities.
