President Mahama Visits Survivors of Burkina Faso Attack at 37 Military Hospital

Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday visited two survivors of the recent terrorist attack in Burkina Faso who are receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

The victims were among a group of Ghanaian tomato traders traveling by truck when armed assailants reportedly ambushed the vehicle, separated the men, and carried out a deadly assault before setting the truck on fire.

The President, accompanied by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, expressed his condolences and assured the victims that the government would fully cover their medical expenses.

Earlier in the day, President Mahama had been on official duty in Takoradi but proceeded directly to the hospital upon returning to Accra to receive firsthand accounts of the incident.

Seven Ghanaians who lost their lives in the attack have since been laid to rest, while surviving victims were transported back home by the Ghana Armed Forces.

Authorities confirmed that survivors are receiving counseling and other necessary support services, with those injured continuing to undergo medical treatment.
