Senegal to Host Patrice Motsepe Amid AFCON Dispute with Morocco

The president of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, is expected in Dakar on April 8 for talks with Senegalese authorities, including President Bassirou Diomaye

Faye and Football Federation head Abdoulaye Fall.

The visit comes as Senegal challenges CAF’s decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory in the 2025 AFCON final.

The Senegalese Football Federation is seeking annulment of the ruling and recognition as tournament winners, while Morocco, through its federation led by Faouzi Lekjaa, maintains the decision is legally sound.

Motsepe has stated that CAF will respect the final ruling of CAS as the case proceeds.
