Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara received his Gabonese counterpart, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, in Abidjan on the sidelines of Ivory Coast’s 66th Independence Day celebrations.
The two leaders discussed relations between the two countries and prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in agriculture and energy, reaffirming their shared commitment to deepening strategic ties and economic partnerships.
The renewed relationship was also highlighted during the national celebrations, as a Gabonese military contingent participated in the grand military parade held in Yopougon over the weekend.
The participation was described as a strong symbol of the friendship, fraternity and mutual respect between the Ivorian and Gabonese peoples, further reflecting the growing cooperation between Abidjan and Libreville.
