Benin president-elect Romuald Wadagni has pledged to promote national unity after winning the April 12 election with over 94% of the vote.
He emphasized continuity with the reforms of outgoing President Patrice Talon while committing to serve all citizens.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Paul Hounkpè and the Les Démocrates party called for political reforms, including dialogue, respect for freedoms, and the release of political detainees.
The party signaled readiness for engagement while advocating for a more inclusive democratic process.
