Burkina Faso’s transitional president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has handed over an ultra-modern mobile field hospital to the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs, aimed at improving on-site medical care for wounded soldiers.
The hospital, equipped with two specialized vehicles and eight hours of autonomy, will be deployed near combat zones in secure areas to provide immediate medical attention before evacuations to larger medical centers.
Captain Traoré emphasized the importance of the facility in reducing fatalities during evacuations, stating, “By the time we evacuate some of the wounded, we often lose them along the way. It’s therefore important to have modern hospitals at the front to support the troops.”
In addition to the hospital vehicles, the system includes 80 foldable hospital beds, and according to Dr. Sawadogo, it can also be deployed to reinforce hospital centers for urgent medical needs.
