Burkina Faso and Belgium held their annual cooperation meeting in Ouagadougou to assess progress under the 2023–2027 partnership program and explore future collaboration.
The session, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, brought together officials from both sides to evaluate ongoing projects, particularly in areas such as education, economic empowerment, and climate initiatives.
Ambassador Hermann Yiriguoin Toé highlighted the tangible impact of the program on local populations and praised Belgium’s continued support despite the country’s security and humanitarian challenges.
Belgian delegation head Bart Pennewaert reaffirmed his country’s commitment and announced preparations for a new cooperation framework covering 2027–2031.
Both parties emphasized the need for flexible, targeted interventions aligned with national priorities, including Burkina Faso’s RELANCE development plan.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen bilateral ties through practical, results-driven cooperation focused on improving conditions for vulnerable communities.
