Burkina Faso Named ADC Hub for Industrial Human Resource Development

The Africa Development Council (ADC) has designated Burkina Faso as the continental headquarters for its Industrial Human Resource Development programme, aiming to position the country as a key center for training elite engineers and technicians to drive projects across Africa.

The announcement was made by ADC President Bright Atsu Sogbey, who emphasized that human capital is the backbone of industrial transformation and said the decision reflects Burkina Faso’s growing commitment to homegrown economic policies and its strategic role in the Sahel.

The initiative seeks to boost knowledge transfer, foster innovation, and accelerate industrialisation by reducing reliance on foreign expertise.

As part of the engagement, ADC will confer its “Order of Sun Award” on President Ibrahim Traoré in recognition of his push for domesticated industrialisation.

Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Ghana, David Kabré, welcomed the move, stating it aligns with the country’s vision of building a self-reliant industrial base and strengthening economic resilience.
