Burkina Faso’s Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, General Célestin Simporé, has paid a working visit to military garrisons in Djibo and Ouahigouya to convey President Ibrahim Traoré’s message of encouragement and assess ongoing operations in the fight against terrorism.
During meetings with commanders and frontline soldiers, the minister reviewed challenges, logistical constraints, and troop needs, reaffirming the government’s determination to strengthen military resources in the region.
He commended the forces for their courage and commitment in defending the nation’s territorial integrity.
General Simporé also met with traditional and administrative leaders in both towns to discuss the return of public services and the revival of local administration.
His visit ended at the Djibo market, recently destroyed in a terrorist attack, where he expressed government solidarity with affected residents and pledged continued support to restore social and economic activities in liberated areas.
