Burkina Faso’s President Receives Confederation Anthem Draft from Sahel Culture Ministers

Burkinabe President Ibrahim Traoré has received the draft of the official anthem of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES), titled La Confédérale, from a delegation of ministers responsible for culture from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.

The symbolic presentation took place on Monday in Ouagadougou and marks another step in solidifying the identity of the regional alliance formed by the three countries.

The anthem is described as a poetic musical composition reflecting shared values, collective aspirations, and a unifying spirit among the member states.

The draft anthem complements the AES identity system, which already includes a flag and logo. According to the ministerial delegation, the development of La Confédérale went through various stages, including proposal collection, expert synthesis, and final approval by the culture ministers of the three countries.

The next steps involve a synchronized official launch in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, followed by its adoption by marching bands and integration into school curriculums.

The anthem was previously presented to the President of the Confederation, Mali’s Assimi Goïta, who then delegated the mission to President Traoré.
