Burkinabe Filmmaker Apolline Traoré Joins Oscars Academy

Renowned Burkinabe director and producer Apolline Traoré has been inducted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the prestigious body responsible for organizing the annual Oscars.

The 49-year-old filmmaker shared the news on social media, celebrating the achievement as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

Traoré has gained recognition across Africa and internationally for her award-winning films and television series.

Her induction into the Academy places her among over 9,900 members from various sectors of the film industry, including actors, directors, writers, and producers.
