Chadian President Unveils 37-Member Government with Mix of Old and New Faces

Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno has signed a decree appointing a new 37-member government, combining key reappointments with fresh figures in strategic roles, following a proposal by Prime Minister Allah-Maye Halina.

Several senior officials retained their positions, including those in foreign affairs, finance, security, and defense, ensuring continuity in major state functions.

The reshuffle also introduces new personalities, notably from politics and sports administration, into sectors such as higher education and youth affairs.

The government maintains a strong presence in economic and social portfolios, while also including women in top-ranking positions, reflecting a balance between stability and renewal in Chad’s leadership structure.
