The Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) of Côte d’Ivoire has distributed campaign materials, including 100,000 posters and 10,000 sample ballot papers, to representatives of all five candidates contesting the October 25, 2025, presidential election.
The exercise, which took place at the CEI headquarters in Abidjan, comes three days before the official campaign period begins on October 10.
The initiative aims to help voters familiarize themselves with the candidates’ identities and prevent confusion during voting. Each poster bears the candidate’s image and profession, forming part of broader voter education efforts to reduce the high rate of invalid ballots recorded in previous elections.
The CEI said the distribution reflects its commitment to ensuring transparency and accessibility in the upcoming polls.
In addition to campaign posters, candidate teams received voter awareness materials encouraging citizens to participate actively in the election.
The final list of approved contenders—Jean-Louis Billon, Ahoua Don Mello, Simone Ehivet, Henriette Lagou, and incumbent President Alassane Ouattara—was released by the Constitutional Council on September 8, 2025. Authorities have reiterated calls for peaceful and credible elections as the country prepares for the October vote.
