ECOWAS Calls for Dialogue Amid Social Unrest in Togo

The ECOWAS Commission has expressed deep concern over recent social protests in Togo, particularly in the capital Lomé, which have resulted in human casualties and material damage.

In a statement dated June 30, 2025, the Commission acknowledged the growing unrest and called on all parties to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue to foster a peaceful socio-economic and political environment.

Reaffirming its commitment to promoting peace and stability in the West African region, the Commission extended its sympathy to those affected and reiterated its readiness to support efforts aimed at preserving social harmony in Togo.
