Former Ghana’s President Denies Interference in NPP’s Upcoming National Delegates Conference

The office of former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo has firmly denied media reports suggesting he is attempting to influence the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming National Delegates Conference.

In a statement issued today, the former president’s office described as “completely false” claims by some online platforms alleging he sought to delay the July 19 event or reverse party decisions on early primaries.

The statement clarified that Akufo-Addo, who has been out of the country for some time, has made no petitions or requests to the party regarding its internal processes.

It also accused the sources of the report of pursuing their own agenda unrelated to the NPP’s success.

The denial reaffirmed Akufo-Addo’s non-interference stance, as party officials continue preparations for the July 19 conference, with no changes to the planned schedule.
