Aboubacar Diakité, alias Toumba, has been admitted to intensive care after falling ill at the Coyah Central Prison in Guinea, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office at the Conakry Court of Appeal.
He was urgently evacuated on March 23, 2026, to the Almamy Samory Touré Camp Hospital, where he is receiving treatment under close medical supervision.
Authorities say his condition is being closely monitored and that all measures have been taken to ensure proper care.
His hospitalization follows recent security incidents in detention, including his transfer to Coyah in February after tensions during a prison search operation.
Convicted in July 2024 and sentenced to ten years in prison for crimes against humanity linked to the September 28, 2009 Conakry stadium massacre, Toumba remains a key figure in the case.
