Fuel Convoy Boosts Supply in Mali Amid Ongoing Challenges

Several hundred tanker trucks carrying hydrocarbons arrived in Bamako on April 1, aimed at easing ongoing fuel shortages.

The convoy was received at the Malian Petroleum Products Office and the former MINUSMA site, where authorities conducted checks to ensure quality, safety, and proper storage before distribution.

Despite repeated deliveries in recent months, Mali’s energy supply remains under pressure due to its dependence on road transport routes.

The situation is further complicated by security risks, including recent attacks on fuel convoys near the border with Senegal, highlighting the fragility of the supply chain.
