Gambian President Adama Barrow will host Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema on a four-day state visit to The Gambia from July 30 to August 2, 2026, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries. According to the Gambian presidency, the two leaders will hold a private meeting followed by official bilateral talks at State House in Banjul to review existing partnerships and explore new areas of collaboration. The visit will also feature a state banquet hosted in honor of the Gabonese leader.
During his stay, President Oligui Nguema will tour key public facilities, including the National Laboratory for Food and Drug Quality Control in Brusubi, the University of The Gambia’s Faraba campus, the National Emergency Treatment Centre in Farato, and the historic Kachikally Crocodile Pool in Bakau. Gambian authorities say the visit reflects the shared commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation and promote sustainable economic development. President Oligui Nguema, who assumed office in May 2025 following Gabon’s political transition, has pledged to advance governance reforms, economic development, and improved living standards in his country.
