Gambian Police Dismiss Three Officers Over Serious Misconduct, Viral Video

The Gambian Police Force (GPF) has dismissed three police officers with immediate effect after they were found guilty of serious misconduct during internal disciplinary proceedings. Officers Alieu G. Camara, Buba Touray, and Ismaila Bah admitted to violating the force’s code of professional conduct, with Camara’s case linked to a viral social media video that allegedly showed him behaving inappropriately toward a shopkeeper. Following separate disciplinary hearings, all three officers were dismissed from the force.

The GPF said the action reflects its zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct and reaffirmed its commitment to upholding professionalism, discipline, and accountability within the police service.

The force stressed that any officer found to have violated laws, regulations, or ethical standards will face appropriate disciplinary action in line with established procedures, as part of efforts to maintain public confidence in law enforcement.
