Gambia’s President Barrow on State Visit to Guinea-Bissau

Gambian President Adama Barrow is on a two-day state visit to Guinea-Bissau from September 8 to 9, 2025, to reinforce bilateral ties between the two nations.

He departed Banjul International Airport on Monday morning for Bissau, where he was welcomed by his counterpart, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló.

The agenda includes a bilateral meeting between the two leaders, talks between their delegations, and an engagement with the Gambian community living in Guinea-Bissau.

The trip builds on Barrow’s previous visit in November 2024, when he attended celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the 51st anniversary of Guinea-Bissau’s independence.

His return is seen as a further step toward strengthening diplomatic and cooperative relations between Banjul and Bissau.
