Ghana Launches National Cybersecurity Committee to Boost Digital Defense

The Ghanaian government has inaugurated an 18-member National Joint Cybersecurity Committee (JCC) at Burma Camp, coinciding with the start of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025.

Operating under the theme “Building a Safe, Informed and Responsible Digital Space,” the initiative is designed to improve coordination among security and intelligence agencies in safeguarding the country’s digital infrastructure.

President Mahama emphasized that cybersecurity demands a unified strategy, strong education, and global cooperation.

He highlighted the need to integrate awareness into schools, community training, and public campaigns to build resilience against cybercrime, which he warned transcends borders and requires collective action.
