Ghana to Launch Solar Energy Initiative and Boost Internet Connectivity in Schools

The Ghanaian government has announced plans to roll out a solar energy initiative across all basic and senior high schools this year, aiming to provide reliable electricity and reduce dependence on the national grid.

Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, shared the development during a press briefing marking the International Day of Education, themed “AI and Education: Human Agency in an Automated World”, held on January 24.

The Minister highlighted the critical role of widespread internet connectivity in preparing students for a future shaped by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and called for collaboration with stakeholders, particularly the private sector, to ensure the project’s success by 2025.
