Ghana’s NDC Claims Parliamentary Majority with 185 Seats

Ghana’s opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has tentatively secured 185 parliamentary seats in the 2024 general elections, according to its National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, December 8, Gyamfi shared that the party’s internal collation of polling station results across the nation indicated a decisive majority in Parliament.

He emphasized the diligence of NDC agents in gathering accurate data, which points to a strong legislative mandate for the party.

The Communications Officer also urged supporters to remain alert and patient as they await the official announcement from the Electoral Commission, reiterating the party’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.

If confirmed, this majority would mark a significant shift in Ghana’s parliamentary dynamics, granting the NDC substantial influence over the country’s legislative direction.
