Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has underscored the critical need to restore economic stability and rebuild confidence in the country’s financial system.
The Ghanaian leader was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama as the new Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
The president noted that the country’s financial sector is in crisis and requires experienced and determined leadership. He reassured the people of Dr. Asiama expertise in restoring confidence and driving economic growth.
He also announced the appointment of Dr. Zakaria Mumuni as the first Deputy Governor of the BoG.
According to him, their selection reflects the unwavering commitment to professionalism, integrity and competence as fundamental criteria for access to the highest positions.
