Guinea-Bissau’s President Calls for Redefining Investment Models in Africa

Guinea-Bissau’s President Umaro Sissoco Embaló has urged African leaders and investors to adopt new investment models that prioritize social impact and sustainable development.

Speaking at the opening of the 2nd edition of the Invest in Senegal Forum in Diamniadio, he emphasized the need for projects that go beyond financial metrics to improve the lives of citizens, particularly young people, women, and vulnerable groups.

The president commended Senegal’s efforts to position itself as a regional technology hub and called for stronger partnerships that integrate local expertise and promote technology transfer.

He underscored the importance of collective action to achieve inclusive and environmentally responsible growth across the subregion.

The two-day forum, which brings together business leaders and international institutions, aims to boost investment opportunities and foster sustainable partnerships across key sectors of the African economy.
