Guinea Deepens Partnership With World Bank on New Investments

Guinea and the World Bank are deepening economic cooperation, with new financing agreements and investments announced following talks between President Mamadi Doumbouya and World Bank Vice President for West and Central Africa Ousmane Diagana.

Diagana, who is visiting Guinea with a high-level delegation, met Doumbouya in Conakry on October 6 and reaffirmed the World Bank Group’s commitment to supporting the country’s development and economic reforms.

The new commitments are expected to support strategic sectors and major development projects aimed at boosting economic growth and improving living conditions, according to Guinea’s presidency.

Diagana also praised the government’s approach of combining strategic investment, structural reforms and efforts to strengthen macroeconomic stability.

The meeting comes as the World Bank seeks to expand its partnership with Guinea, with the institution expressing confidence in the country’s economic prospects and development potential.
