Guinea and the World Bank are preparing a new partnership framework for 2027-2033, with the Simandou mining project expected to strengthen the country’s economic outlook.
Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah met World Bank Vice President for West and Central Africa Ousmane Diagana in Conakry on Monday to discuss the next phase of cooperation.
The new framework will focus on supporting economic reforms, infrastructure development, diversification and job creation as Guinea seeks to translate its growing revenues into broader development.
Government projections forecast 8.6% economic growth in 2026, with growth potentially reaching double digits by 2030, driven in part by Simandou.
The World Bank’s next seven-year strategy is expected to play a key role in helping Guinea manage the opportunities and challenges associated with its expanding mining sector and wider economic transformation.
