The Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) is experiencing internal strife following the selection of Pascal Affi N’Guessan as its presidential candidate for the 2025 election.
Issiaka Sangare, former FPI Secretary General and current leader of the Democracy and Values faction, has openly opposed N’Guessan’s nomination, declaring that he does not recognize the recent 5th party congress where the decision was made.
Sangare alleges procedural irregularities in the nomination process and is rallying party members to back his faction, intensifying existing divisions within the FPI as the election draws closer.
This discord threatens to weaken the party’s unity and focus ahead of a highly anticipated electoral contest.
