Mali’s armed forces say at least 50 members of armed groups, including several commanders, were neutralised in strikes near Abeïbara in the Kidal region on September 26.
The General Staff said the operation followed intelligence that identified several armed group gathering points and the presence of senior figures. The strikes reportedly destroyed several pieces of military equipment.
The military said surveillance and reconnaissance operations were continuing to assess the impact of the strikes and identify any remaining threats in the area.
The operation was conducted under Operation Dougoukoloko, Mali’s ongoing campaign against armed groups. In August, the military reported 214 airstrikes against armed group targets and said about 1,000 fighters had been neutralised across the country.
