A Nigerian Air Force plane crashed on Monday in Ondo State in southwestern Nigeria, killing all 32 people on board, including 25 passengers and seven crew members, according to Nigerian authorities.
President Bola Tinubu confirmed that there were no survivors and ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash.
The ATR-42 aircraft was flying from Benin City to Lagos on a routine military mission when air traffic controllers lost contact with it at 0813 GMT, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo said.
The wreckage was later found near Igbokoda, a coastal town in Ondo State, where search and rescue teams were deployed.
The crash is one of the deadliest aviation accidents reported in Nigeria in recent years. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
