Nigerien law enforcement officers have seized a significant quantity of narcotics in Niamey’s Saga Gorou district following an intelligence-led operation on June 27, 2025.
A suspected drug dealer was arrested, and a search of two houses linked to his activities led to the confiscation of 31.6 kg of cannabis packed in 35 bricks, 53.5 Tramadol 250 tablets, 7 Escazepam tablets, a Corolla LE vehicle, two mobile phones, and various other items including cash and weapons.
Authorities say the operation underscores the scale of the suspect’s trafficking network and highlights the effectiveness of ongoing anti-narcotics efforts.
The Niamey 2000 Police Station praised public cooperation in the bust and urged continued vigilance and reporting of suspicious activities to support national security and drug prevention efforts.
