Nigerien President General Abdourahmane Tiani has signed a decree convening the first session of the Consultative Council for Refoundation (CCR) for Saturday, June 28, 2025.
The move signals a new phase in Niger’s transitional restructuring process, which began during the National Conference held in February.
The session follows the May 8 appointment of the CCR Bureau, tasked with coordinating the work of the new consultative body.
Chaired by Dr. Mamoudou Harouna Djingarey, the CCR Bureau includes seven vice-presidents from various sectors, such as Professor Issoufou Katambé, Colonel Inoussa Nomao, and activist Aissa Nana Sandi.
Abdou Moustapha serves as secretary, assisted by three rapporteurs. Created under Ordinance No. 2025-07, the CCR is divided into six commissions covering areas like justice, economy, peace, and political reconstruction.
Its mandate is to provide strategic recommendations to the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Fatherland (CNSP) and the government as part of a broader effort to reshape Niger’s governance following the 2023 coup that ousted President Mohamed Bazoum.
