Retired members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, under the Coalition of Military Pensioners, staged a protest at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja, decrying the prolonged delay in receiving their entitlements.
The demonstrators, carrying placards, called attention to unfulfilled promises of salary increments and other benefits they say have been neglected for years.
The pensioners highlighted the economic hardships they face due to the delays, noting that many of their members struggle with rising living costs, unpaid medical bills, and inadequate support for their families.
They called for immediate dialogue with relevant government agencies to address their grievances and ensure a sustainable framework for the timely disbursement of military pensions in the future.
