The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) have repeled an attack lauched by armed groups on the Koury Customs border early Wesnesday morning.
The military Forces swiftly responded, neutralizing three attackers as the others fled, leaving behind a significant amount of ammunition.
One civilian was injured during the incident. Shortly after, at 6:45 AM, an enemy drone dropped an explosive device targeting a FAMa military position.
However, the device missed its target, causing no human or material damage.
These attacks come just days after the Malian government inaugurated a new military camp on the Koury-Koutiala axis to strengthen security and deter armed group activities. Officials say security operations are ongoing to prevent further threats.
The Malian military is calling on the population to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces to help maintain peace in the region.
