Nigerien President Tiani Receives Official Anthem of AES Confederation

Nigerien President Abdourahamane Tiani has received the official anthem of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), following a similar presentation to Burkinabe President Ibrahim Traoré in Ouagadougou two days earlier.

The anthem, titled La Confédérale, was presented by a joint delegation led by Mamou Daffé, Mali’s Minister of Handicrafts, Culture, Hotel Industry and Tourism, and Pingdwende Gilbert Ouédraogo, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism.

They were joined by top Nigerien officials, including Transport Minister Abdourahamane Amadou Djibo and the President’s Chief of Staff, Soumana Boubacar.

Described as a unifying musical and poetic piece, La Confédérale embodies the identity, values, and aspirations of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger under the AES.

Its development involved broad consultations, expert synthesis, and formal validation by the culture ministers of the three nations.

Following its presentation to the presidents, the anthem will be officially launched, incorporated into military bands, and taught in schools across the member states as part of efforts to reinforce a shared confederate identity.
