Abdourahamane Tiani has signed a decree withdrawing Nigerien nationality from two individuals, Aminata Takoubakoye Boureima and Djibo Yaya, over activities deemed harmful to public order and national security.
Authorities accuse them of spreading information capable of disturbing public peace, engaging in defamation, and supporting terrorism-related narratives.
The decision is based on regulations adopted in 2024 targeting individuals involved in acts threatening national interests.
Since October 2024, around twenty figures have been affected by similar measures, reflecting a broader crackdown by Nigerien authorities on activities considered destabilizing to the state.
