Ouattara Dissolves Ivorian Government Following Prime Minister’s Resignation

Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara has dissolved the government led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, following the latter’s resignation on 27 December 2025.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Presidency confirmed that Prime Minister Mambé formally submitted his resignation, along with that of his government, to the Head of State.

The move comes in the aftermath of legislative elections held in December, which resulted in the election of several government members to the National Assembly.
Despite the dissolution, Beugré Mambé and his ministers have been instructed to continue managing day-to-day affairs until a new Prime Minister is appointed and a new government is formed.

Additional presidential decrees also ended the mandates of ministers-governors of the autonomous districts, as well as those of ministers of state, ministers, and minister-advisers attached to the Presidency. These measures enable elected ministers to take up their parliamentary seats, ensuring the full functioning of the National Assembly.

The changes mark the beginning of a new political phase, creating space for the formation of a government aligned with the new legislature. The parliamentary session is scheduled to resume on 19 January 2026, with the election of a new Speaker expected to follow.
