More than 30 people have been killed and six others wounded following an intercommunal clash in Chad’s southwestern province of Logone Occidental.
The violence, which erupted on Wednesday in a local village, is part of a pattern of deadly disputes in the region, often involving herders and farmers in conflict over grazing rights and land use.
Chad’s government confirmed the incident in an official statement, noting that security forces were deployed swiftly to restore order.
A government delegation later visited the affected community to offer support and assess the situation.
Intercommunal tensions remain a persistent challenge in the Central African nation.
