President Faye Engages IMF, and World Bank to Boost Senegal’s Economic Partnerships

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye held a series of high-level meetings in Washington aimed at strengthening Senegal’s economic partnerships.

On the sidelines of his official meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, he participated in a working lunch at the White House alongside leaders from Gabon, Mauritania, Guinea-Bissau, and Liberia.

The U.S. president called for trade- and investment-based partnerships and announced an expanded U.S.-Africa summit in the fall.

President Faye met with Boeing executives to discuss collaboration with Air Senegal, focusing on new aircraft acquisition, skills development, and job creation in the aviation sector.

He also engaged with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to explore enhanced cooperation on infrastructure and development projects, and consulted with Senegalese professionals at the IMF and World Bank to examine economic strategies for sustainable growth.
