Senegal and Türkiye Sign Four Bilateral Cooperation Agreements

Senegal and Türkiye have deepened their diplomatic and strategic ties by signing four bilateral agreements during a high-level meeting in Ankara.

The agreements were concluded following one-on-one and inter-delegation talks held at the Turkish Presidential Palace.

Among them were two defense-related accords signed by Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Senegalese Armed Forces Minister General Birame Diop, including a Military Financial Cooperation Agreement and a protocol amending a 2020 financial assistance implementation deal.

Further agreements focused on cultural and educational collaboration. A co-production and cooperation agreement in cinema, audiovisual, and multimedia was signed by Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat and Senegal’s Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Yassine Fall.

Additionally, a protocol covering higher education cooperation for the period 2025–2028 was signed by the President of Türkiye’s Higher Education Council, Erol Ozvar, and Minister Yassine Fall, aiming to strengthen academic partnerships between both countries.
