Senegal Reaffirms Commitment to Global Partnerships as it Welcomes New Ambassadors

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye received four newly appointed foreign ambassadors who presented their letters of credence during a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Dakar on Thursday.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the envoys represent the Republic of Portugal, the Republic of Liberia, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and the People’s Republic of China. Their accreditation marks the formal commencement of their diplomatic missions in Senegal.

President Faye used the occasion to reaffirm his government’s openness to international collaboration and the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral ties across sectors such as diplomacy, trade, education, security, and cultural cooperation.

He expressed optimism that the ambassadors’ appointments would foster meaningful partnerships grounded in mutual respect and shared development goals.
