The Senegalese government has reaffirmed its solidarity with Burkina Faso in light of the repeated terrorist attacks the nation has faced over the past several years.
Bassirou Diomaye Faye dispatched an envoy to Ouagadougou to convey a message of compassion and support to the Burkinabe people.
On Thursday, the envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, was warmly received by the President of the Burkinabe Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
Burkina Faso has been at the forefront of a complex security crisis, with numerous terrorist groups operating in the region. Since 2015, the country has faced escalating violence, leading to thousands of deaths and the displacement of millions.
The situation has strained the government’s capacity to maintain order and protect its citizens, prompting military-led governments to take charge in recent years.
